Guitarist Toby Stewarts considers ‘The Eternal Rest’ a new chapter for Engraved Disillusion, “We have focused on elements that make us sound unique.”

Adding, “We have new members that have added more to the band, [vocalist Matthew William Mead and bassist Aaron Preston] that said we are still the same band and this record certainly sounds like an Engraved Disillusion record, just more refined and with our best production yet.”

“The title sums up the feel of the album, the title track is about loss and mourning someone or something and that theme runs throughout the album. Its not all negative though as it can also mean dealing with loss and accepting it.

We also wanted a title that had an epic sound to it and fit with the music which we feel this does. Its bound to be a gloomy title when most of the album is about death and the emotions that surround it, theres nothing more thought provoking or powerful in my opinion.”

‘The Eternal Rest’ was recorded at Thin Ice Studios with Karl Groom (Dragonforce, Threshold). Artwork was completed by Colin Marks at Rain Song Design (Strapping Young Lad, Saille, Exodus, Scar Symmetry).
